Manor Architecture were appointed by our client to transform their newly purchased dormer bungalow in Lymm, Cheshire. Their goal was to completely modernise the dwelling by adding a second floor and extending the living and kitchen areas to increase the number of bedrooms from two to four and rationalise the internal layout to be more contemporary and open plan.
With proactive planning application management and engaging with the case officer early, the planning application achieved approval within the eight-week statutory period with minimal conditions and no design changes requested.
Through thoughtful and commercially minded architectural design, we extended the existing roof space implementing large windows to maximise the views at the rear of the property which in turn creates a stunning master suite. The roof extension involved raising the ridge height, extending the gables at each end, and slightly increasing the eaves height to ensure that all areas within the footprint of the dwelling were maximised. the introduction of a study overlooking the property's gardens is stylishly finished with a large curtain wall gable.
The ground floor was redesigned to create two large bedrooms with dressing room and en-suite as well as the creation of a large family kitchen diner with day living area.
