Environmental, social and governance (ESG) is a set of criteria that Manor Architecture Ltd help define and support our working methods and practices.
ESG criteria are fundamental to our clients and partners and are reflective of their own values and approach to our collective environmental and social responsibilities.
Every element of this ESG addresses crucial elements of our work and relationships with clients, partners and ultimately the end-users of our work.
Integrating solid environmental practices in our designs is critical for the creation of buildings and spaces which are sustainable to use and run.
This policy isn't just about enforcing a "fabric first approach" but ensuring that the people and business who use the buildings in which we design, will benefit from these design decisions and will reap the benefits long into the future as intended.
We undertake project reviews to establish the criteria for sustainability, focusing on key contributing elements such as MEP and the impact of solar gain, as well as recommending incorporation of renewables to aim for a net-zero solution.
By minimising the carbon footprint of our designs and advising our clients on how this can be achieved is key to our process. We make them aware of their responsibility and what the lasting impact will be for their end users into the future.
We understand that the buildings and spaces we design form part of a wider social context. They do not exist as a sole entity and thus require integration into the communities in which they will reside. Furthermore they provide spaces in which the end users will use for a viariety of functions and by creating our designs with how the end users will utilise these spaces adds to the social dynamic of our designs.
We always seek guidance and feedback from the local communities we work amongst by actively seeking their input and ensuring that where possible we provide new social spaces which will be available to those communities.
At Manor Architecture we strive to support local communities, businesses and organisations within our day to day operation as well as within the schemes we design which ultimately , reinforce and add value to local economies.
Having honesty and accountability as a core value of our business we "do what we say we are going to do and when we are going to do it". By reinforcing these promises, we build trust with those who we work with and alongside.
In order for us to engage with all of our stakeholders and understand their needs we promote a total honesty policy. Whether that is with clients, employees or partners, Manor Architecture believes that everyone should be free to express their ideas, thoughts and feelings. Through this honesty feedback loop we ensure that these ideas or comments are taken on board and acted upon to ensure that everyone's voice feels heard and can contribute in a positive way to the businesses successes.
It is paramount to the company's directors that the practice adheres to responsible business processes, procedures and behaviours.
We remain committed to being accountable to our all of our clients, partners and stakeholders and keep their best interests at the forefront of our decision making to ensure that they come before all else.
