After our clients recent acquisition iCare International who are a Stockport based care home company, Manor Architecture were asked to review the various planning permissions that the previous owners had secured in the past 3 years.
After carrying out a full planning and building regulations compliance review of the proposals, it was clear that the permissions which had been granted were in need of some technical input and rationalisation to ensure full compliance with various building regulations issues with the previous architects designs.
Utilising our technical knowledge and collective experience in the delivery of a number of care home refurbishment projects around the North of England, we set about producing a plan of rationalisation to identify areas of non-compliance and revisit the design proposals to adjust to maximise the number of additional bedrooms, but also meet current building regulations standards.
The result of the exercise on their site in Marple as well as the other 3 sites in Stockport have allowed the client to create a CAPEX plan for the next 2 years to roll out the extension and refurbishment of their estate and which will go towards funding additional strategic acquisitions of new care homes into the future.
